Happy Fourth Birthday Matthew!!!!

1 year

2 Years

3Years

4 years

Wow has it really been four years already!?!
This year we decided to take the kids to the Honolulu Zoo for Matt's Birthday. Mason stayed home with my mom.

So my cake didn't turn out quite like i'd had hoped. I still don't have a lot of my stuff unpacked and I could not for the life of me find my food color's. Our Comissary closes at 6:30 and by the time I realized I had no food coloring the store was closed!
So THANK YOU Nichole for letting me use your food coloring. I also ran out of black and the colors to make it so it turned out more of a greyish brown. Wayne ran to the store the next morning and bought some gel colors so I could finish the cake.

My mom and I went Birthday Shopping together for Matt and she got him a Dragon that we named Puff and some Toy Story Soldiers.

Matt's big surprise was his lights and sounds Batman trike. He and Peyton have been fighting over her Nihao Ki-Lan trike since Easter. So we thought we would get him his own. They ride them over to the park almost every night.

Mason's Blessing

We blessed Mason a couple Sundays ago. Wow what a stress it was to try and get his blessing outfit. I could have used Matt's but I really wanted him to have his own. I had one picked out online that I LOVED and was going to order but we weren't sure when we were going to bless him and kept putting it off. Well my mom came out to visit for a couple weeks and we decided to bless him while she was here. So we decided to just pay extra to ship the outfit over night....they don't do overnight to HI and it wouldn't get her until the 29th and he was being blessed on the 24th. So the hunt began to find a store on the island that sold blessing outfits. I found one that I loved...but the smallest it was made in was 6-9 months. I went to about 10 different stores and everyone was sold out. So Saturday I finally decided to try Babies R Us...what'd ya know they had ONE boys christening outfit left and just so happened to be 0-3 months, so I grabbed it bought it and headed home. Sunday morning we got up and all got ready on time for once. I came down to dress Mason and Wayne had already done it without me....I was a little mad but oh well. Anyway Wayne asked me what was wrong with this picture...I looked at Mason and was confused for a minuet. Then I saw a black square on his right leg....it was the security ink tag!!! I wanted to cry at first but then just realized there was nothing I could do but just deal with it. So we grabbed a white blanket and wrapped it over his legs. It was kinda funny though because when Wayne held Mason up after the blessing the blanket fell off his one leg...of course the one with the tag on it!
The blessing went fine although I couldn't hear one bit of it except for Mason's name oh well not much I can do about that either. we did get some money back when we took the outfit back to get the tag removed and told them what had happend.

The outfit I really wanted for him
Thanks Marilyn for taking the pictures.

Fourth of July

This year for the Fourth we grilled some steaks on the salt block and cooked some hotdogs for the kiddos. Then we headed over to Hickam Air Force base to Pear Harbor beach for the fireworks. We stopped to fill the car up and I ran in to get drinks and some snacks and saw bubbles for 49 cents so I grabbed a couple. It was a good thing I grabbed the bubbles that kept the kids entertained until it was time for the firworks to start. Last year the kids and I flew home on the 3rd and went from the airport strait to the fireworks in Willard. Peyton got so excited about them that she threw up on me....this year was the complete opposite. As soon as they started she turn and ran, she ran right into Wayne and practically climbed onto his head! He had to hold his hands over her ears and after awhile that wasnt good enough that she put his hands over her eyes. Course we were sitting right across the road from where they were launching them. I don't think she liked feeling the boom of the fireworks. Matt had a blast and said he loved the fireworks....as we were walking back to the car he said "wow mom that was so cool...now can we go see the fireworks?" Luckily there was the fireworks going at the Aloha Bowl as we were driving home. Both the kids thought that was cool to see.
Also at our fireworks show they had fireworks that spelled out USA if you could read upside down, sideways or backwards.

Playing with bubbles and a new friend

Her thoughts about having to put the bubbles away.

so we gave her an iphone to play with...then she was fine.

And of course Mason slept the whole time we were there.

We couldn't get Peyton to look away from the phone long enough for a picture so this was as good as we could do.
