Beach Day

Last week Wayne took just Matt to the beach. Matt was so excited to have a day with daddy. It was all he talked about friday evening, about how it was just he and daddy going to the beach and mom and Peyton had to stay home. Peyton and I spent the time watching tangled and pigging out on Cheeto's and reading books.

Wayne has been taking the kids to the park lately to get them out of the house and running around. It's very hard for me to get around right now. We love having the park right out our front door.

Another reason we love letting them run around the park for an hour....

there in bed by 8!

Cloth Diapers

So we decided it was time to get a full stock of cloth diapers...boy was it a pain in the but. All I can say is we will never order from cottonbabies.com again! After a MONTH and at least 15 phone calls we thought we finally got our diapers....they sent the wrong diapers. Long story short...I think they were tired of a VERY angry Marine calling them and got us the right diapers, and fast!
We decided on the Bumgenius Elementals. I loved my Gdiapers but I hated stuffing them, and that they came in sizes so you had to order a bunch in each size. The elementals are so easy. Theres one size to get them through the diaper stage and you don't have to stuff them. Just put them off and when it's time take it off and throw it in to wash. There just like a regular diaper. we payed for 24 diapers and 24 cloth wipes just under $600 but we have been using them on Peyton and will use them on this baby and the next and when you total that up it was either spend the 600 on the cloth or about 2000 on paper diapers...hmm that made it an easy choice for us.

She's 2!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Wayne & Peyton!!

When did this happen....it goes so much faster with the second one. With Matt it seemed to take a long time to get to his first birthday. With Peyton i'm wondering where her first birthday went to and how we are already to her second?!
This year instead of going out to dinner, Wayne decided on going out for breakfast to iHop. It was nice to go out for breakfast, and the kids were both in great moods so that always helps.
After that I had to run to the store to get Wayne his ice cream cake he wanted and then to another store to pick up a pillow pet for Peyton. I found out the night before that they sold them here on base, i was glad because now I didn't have to order it and pay a ton of shipping!
After that I came home and started Peyton's birthday cake, nothing fancy this year. I'm in to much pain if i stand to long so I just bought a cake topper this year and some candles. I was going to do some pink lining on the cake but ran out of frosting. I figure she's only two and she's not going to care so i'm not running to the store to get more...good thing because later she tried to feed her hippo some cake by pushing it head first into the cake! Wayne and Peyton had a good birthday!

Trying to blow out the candles as daddy lights them.

Daddy had to help her get her present started.

Then Matt decided he better "help" her open her gift.

But she caught on quick and decided she didn't need help after all.

She saw her cake and tried blowing out the candles again...even though they were already out.

"LOOK, it's a pippo!" She was SO excited over her new hippo! We named her Pip the hippo, because she calls them pippo's.

Her cake after she shoved he hippo in it.

She thought it was for her to ride it. Even after we got it put together she kept trying to climb inside it. She finally figured out it was for her dolls.

Cookies and Cream ice cream cake.

I got him a Camelbak because he runs pretty much everyday and of course a Harry Potter Blu-Ray. He always gets one for Christmas and one for his birthday...only two more to go.

Getting ready for baby

We finally got our crib out here to HI! We bought this crib in VA, it's A Baby's Dream brand and they are VERY hard to find...at least where we were. Our other crib was a floor model and was recalled with an stop using immediately!
I have wanted this crib since we were pregnant with Matt. This crib is normally around $600 but when I checked on there site it was on sale for 5 and so we waited for our taxes and headed down to the store to get it. It was on sale for just a little over 4 and then we got a military discount! So we got an amazing deal on it!
Anyway long story short the store didn't order it when they said they would and we thought we had plenty of time. We thought we were moving around April...a week later we got a call saying our move request went through and we were moving in two weeks! We called the store and there was no way for them to get it to us in time. So we gave permission for the store to let Wayne's friend pick it up and then he would ship it to us.
So here it is and we just got the new bedding put up on it!
You'd think we would have everything we needed for the baby since we have two kids already! WRONG, we had to get a new bottles, a car seat, pack and play, swing, bouncer and playmate. Our swing just wasn't meant to hold a two year old....who knew? So we got a mammaroo, they are really cool. They don't swing at all, they sway and bounce...ya know the same way we sway and bounce a baby when we are holding them.

Easter

We didn't color as many eggs this year...oh well next year we will do more. and this year we just used regular grocery bags on the kids. Peyton liked it but eventually ripped hers off, I figured she was in a pair of Matt's old jammies so oh well if they got color on them. This year I bought what I thought was a pirate egg kit...I didn't really read the box. It was a Princess pirate kit. But Matt liked it anyway, we didn't tell him it was a princess kit. We also didn't realize one of the colors was black, so when we pulled the egg out it was a dirty brownish green color? So I looked at the box and sure enough there in the picture is a black egg. Wayne thought that was strange at first, I figured ya I guess that makes sense. So we had one black egg.
After egg coloring the kids went to bed and Wayne and I got there easter baskets ready. This year they each got there own bucket of 52 count chalk. They were buy one get one free so Wayne got them each there own. Wayne and I remember an easter when we were little that we got a bike for easter. So we decided to get Peyton a trike, it was originally for her bday but I decided to give it to her for easter, Matt got a Cars scooter and they each got a crayola dry erase crayon book to use for church or car rides. They love there scooter/trike and love to draw outside with there chalk.

I cut the neck just a bit to big.

At first she just smiled and would put her hand on it, but I think she wasn't sure if it was really for her.

Playing with there chicks. They wind up and hop around.

trying out her new trike, she is to short to reach the pedals. The box said 2yrs and up...I forget she is shorter than most 2yr olds. But she's learned to steer it and to just push her self using her feet. She has gotten really good at pushing herself around the house, but watch out she WILL run you over if your in the way!
