Christmas Day!!

The kids had a great Christmas and Matt was SO excited for Santa this year. He is finally old enough to understand what santa is about...so we took advantage of that and if he was being mean to his sister or not listening we would tell him he needed to be nice or santa might not come. It even got him to go to bed on time the last few nights before Christmas.
Unfortunately the kids were sick again this year so matt ended up in bed with us Christmas eve. When he came into bed he told me he thought he heard Santa downstairs and was so excited, so I told him he better hurry and get back to sleep. So he climbed in and went right to sleep. Then when I was getting out of bed in the morning it woke him and he sat straight up and said again mom I think I heard santa down stairs can we go see. By then it was 7:30 so I told him as soon as Peyton wakes up we would go down....2 minuets later we were all going down stairs.
Matt was excited but then realized santa wasn't there and was pretty mad. I guess he thought Santa would still be there to play with him. I told him Santa just comes to drop off your toys, he has a LOT of other kids he has to stop at and then he goes home to sleep!
Wayne and I had fun watching the kids open there gifts and watching Matt get excited over what santa brought. I got Wayne his Band of Brother's the Pacific on Blu-ray and he got me an iPad and Santa brought us a new TV.

Our tree before Peyton got to it.

We finally put the gifts under the tree the night before Christmas Eve, it was quite a challenge for Matt to not open the gifts.

Christmas Eve dinner...I forgot a LOT of stuff for the dinner so we just had ham, potatoes, sparkling cider and olives. I forgot rolls, green beans, christmas ribbon jello and the stuff for the candy cane cake!

Opening his Christmas jammies...he was SO excited he got to open a gift.

"Mom, I just LOVE my new christmas dress!"...Christmas dress?! I don't know why he thought it was a dress.

"helping" Peyton open her christmas jammies.

I even got Wayne some Christmas jammies this year. Everyone ended up with monkey jammies...it was not planned either.

Tracking santa. he was getting close to us so Matt was excited to get to bed.

I think santa came!

Christmas Best

In there Sunday Christmas clothes. Matt was excited to wear his Christmas church clothes...he thought that meant it was Christmas day. But he was still excited for nursery. Peyton who normally loves her dresses and if she see's one shell bring it over to have you put it on her, threw the biggest fit when I put her in her new dress. I think part was the tights, she's not used to those and the biggest part was it was nap time. Our church is at 2 and nap time is 1:30. But once it was on and some christmas music was going she noticed that when she danced and spun around her dress would twirl...she now loves her dress.
And I tried a new hair style on her. I didn't know if all her hair would be long enough because most of the length is on the sides of her head. But for the most part it all stayed in place, to bad all of her curls are at the bottom of her hair. Her pig tails just hung straight and we didn't have time to try and curl them..but it still looked cute.

Going to see Santa!

Last week we took the kids to see Santa. We decided to not even try to put Peyton on his lap, she was already tired and when we got up there she started to cling to Wayne and whine. We werent sure how Matt would do, he was so excited to see Santa last year and then screamed when he was up there. But this year he sat on Santa's lap and told him all about his day.He told him all about the movie he had watched that morning and what he had for breakfast that he forgot to tell him what he wanted for christmas!
So our santa picture turned out much better this year.

Getting ready to go see santa.

"Nothing Much Happens"

Nothing much has been going on lately. I had a nice trip home and was glad to see my family for Thanksgiving, my grandpas funeral turned out nice. He had a military funeral, he was in the Army Air force. He was 91 years young.

It was good to come home to the kids though, they missed me..we'll Matt did, they were staying the night at a baby sitter's since I didn't land until 11:30. Matt cried the whole night, I felt bad for the sitter because she is already tired with her newborn. So they were dropped off to me at 2 am Peyton saw me, hugged me and started calling out dadda and went running around the house looking for him. He was out in the field for the night doing Land Nav...land navigation.
Since then we haven't done a whole lot until this last weekend. We took the kids to see Santa, Matt was SO excited and was telling santa all about his day and forgot to tell him what toy he wanted. We got home and he was sad because he "needed" to go back to tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas, I told him we would make sure to leave out a small note to Santa on Christmas eve. Matt helped me decorate the tree...we pretty much have to redecorate everyday due to Peyton pulling everything off the tree

We had our ward Christmas party. Peyton would sing along to the hymns, it was so cute. Everytime we would start to sing she would sing and during the pauses she would stop and would always clap and say yeah at the end.
This next Saturday we are going to take the kids to the zoo, they have lights displayed throughout the zoo and we are going to see if we can get to the DC temple to see the lights up there too, there supposed to be amazing.
Matt is getting excited for Christmas, 3 is when it seems to click as to what the Santa part of Christmas is about. I had a book called "who was born this special night?" that got ruined a couple years back. I'm hoping I can find it so we can fit in some more of the real reason of Christmas. He knows but like most kids he's just to excited for the "fun" part of it.
Baby update...baby is doing good. We are at 16 weeks and I had a dr appointment yesterday. I'm measuring 15 weeks and I guess i need to eat more because i'm a bit underweight....I just never feel like eating with this pregnancy. I'm sure that will change oh so soon.
