Matt is starting to play along to his shows like Sesame Street and Diego. He got The Adventure's of Elmo in Grouchland for his birthday and will now help countdown to get the movie started. Then he runs away when Burt screams and runs off.

She ended up low crawling over and off the pillow!

He is so into it!

He wouldn't open his eyes but at least I got him to smile and say "Cheese!"

Watching Baby Einstien. Peyton thought it was cool, Matt just looks bored.

Feeding Peyton her cereal.

Poor girl can't keep up with him shoveling it into her mouth!

7 Years

Well yesterday was our 7 year anniversary! Wow I can't believe it's already been seven years. Wayne and I were set up on a blind date in high school. His friend Matt and my friend Courtney were dating each other. After a few months of dateing I told Wayne I was going graduate school a year early so I could join the Marine Corps. Well that did it, he proposed right there and then. He knew if I left that he wouldn't see me again, which he is probably right. So we were married August 8 in 2002. After our first year and a half of marriage I decided I still wanted to join the Marine Corps. It's something I have wanted to do since I was a little kid and watched the Marine comercials on tv. So We went to check it out and Wayne decided he wanted to join to. Both our grandparents were Marines and I have to cousins who are Marines as well. Anyway we took our test's and physicalls and got sworn in and started training. Well a few years yearlier I had broken my ankle and didn't even know so it set wrong. Well all the training was really hurting it and so I had to back out of going to boot camp 3 days before I was supposed to leave! I was mad not to mention the recruter. So Wayne ended up going and was transfored over to California since I wasn't going anymore. After that Wayne went to NC for more trainging and I stayed at my parents...and got a Italian Greyhound. A few months later Sophie and I flew out to NC to be with Wayne. Then we got Daisy, they were are kids for a few years and were SPOILED. A few years after that we were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple and I was FINALLY sealed to my parents the day before in the Ogden Temple. Seven Months later we had Matt and this last Febuary we moved to VA near Quantico and 3 months later we had Peyton's.
I am so thankful for Wayne and so proud of him for serving our country. Lucky he has never been deployed. He was supposed to go to Iraq 3 weeks after Matt was born. My dad had bought a ticket to fly out to help me move home for the 7 months. Well last minuets he found out he didn't have to go after all! There was another deployment a few months back but we got stationed not to long after he was told he would be going. Which he would have missed Peyton's birth which she shares with him!
We feel very blessed that he hasn't had to go. We also are very blessed to have two healthy happy kids.
And that's our life in a nut shell.
Here are a few...well a lot of pictures from the last seven years.

Holy Bubbles!

I decided to give the kids a bath and put in a couple caps of bubbles for Matt in his tub and then started to fill Peyton's tub. I forgot about Matt's tub and when I looked over there was a mountain of bubbles in the tub so I shut off the water and put Matt in. He had a blast with all the bubbles!

Peyton has learned how fun it is to splash mom.

the longest short walk ever!

The otherday I decided we all needed to get out of the house. So I got the kids dressed and we headed out for a walk around the block. Well a walk around the block should take about 5 minuets. Yeah well a two year old on a four wheeler isn't faster than just letting them walk. Now I know and next time we'll walk. It took us about 20 minuets to get around the block and it was a hot muggy day.

Cereal, bottles and Breastfeeding

Ok I know, there not supposed to go onto cereal until 6 months. But ya know what I don't care. Matt went onto cereal at 4 1/2 months. It helped him sleep through the night. The doctor said as long as he could eat it without choking on it then good for him. So I started earlier with Peyton because she was just waking so much at night to eat. She now sleeps all night and wakes around 7:30 for her bottle.

Yes she is on a bottle and has been for awhile now. So for those of you who think bottle feeding is just a horrid thing to do to your child well poo poo on you! It's not like I didn't try breast feeding, but when your baby eats like a Parana well lets just say after a few months I just couldn't take it. The lactation consultant even suggested going to pump while I could and switch her to a bottle because at the time all I was pumping was pretty much mostly blood. Like I said she's a Parana! So I switched her and pumped for a long time so she could get the good stuff!
Also for those people who say I won't bond with my baby as well as I would if I breast feed that a load of crap! I bottle feed Matt and I breast feed Peyton and the bonding experience is just the same. But when you bottle feed dad gets to have that bonding time as well...and he gets to get up at night also!
It has taken so long to find a bottle that she will take. We have tried the Playtex Vent Air, Dr Browns Playtex drop ins and the Nuk nipples with the Dr browns. She would only take the nipples from the hospital. Finally she would tolerate the Playtex drop in but still had a hard time. Well someone at church said to try the MAM's bottles. She had just switched her baby to a bottle as well. So we tried them and she took to them right away. Now she won't take ANY other bottle! She gets SO mad when I try to give her one of the drop in bottles. So we switched her binky's to te MAM's as well. She will actually take a binky now which is very nice!

The ones from the hospital, which are meant for one time use.

A few of the bottles and binky's we tried.

Finally a bottle and binky she will take!

Randomness

Just a few random photo's that I have been meaning to put up.
